"Thank you very much for all your help and guidance through a very frightening time in my life. I wondered when we first met if I would ever have a voice again.. you turned that all around thankfully!"
"I've come to know you as a very kind person, the voice of reason and always the proper professional. You've helped me develop and change and I thank you for that. As well as for all your support since that first day. I told you once that when I see you I feel like smiling, and I do. It's been a pleasure to know you and work with you Karen."
"I've thoroughly enjoyed working with you too. Thank you so much for all your help and teaching. I've learnt so much from you."
"Karen, thank you so much for all your help and guidance; especially when leading us through a turbulent time."
"Karen is such a wonderful leader, full of experience, knowledge and most of all kindness. An inspiration and I just can't thank her enough for all the support, guidance and knowledge she has passed onto me during these very challenging first few months in my new role. Karen is the epitome of a true expert. She is an expert in the field of voice and while Karen has 'been doing voice', the people of North Staffordshire have been truly privileged to be 'theraped' by Karen."
"I know I speak for us all when I say, thank you so much for working with the Asthma team. I know patients have benefited."
"Thank you so much for all of your help and support for nearly 12 months. I think I am finally there and I am 'sorted' with my voice."
"Thank you for all you have done for us. You have been wonderful."
"I just wanted to say what a privilege it has been working with you. I have always admired your calm, level headed approach."
"Thank you for helping to restore my faith. It's been an absolute pleasure working with you again."
"We would all like to thank you very much for the help and guidance you gave to Anthony and ourselves. Anthony's speech is now very clear and he has a wide range of vocabulary. Through the times you visited Anthony we think he saw you as a friend and not just a speech therapist."
"Thank you so much for everything you've done for me personally. You're a breath of fresh air and the open honesty you exude has been a welcome relief."
"Thank you very much for the help you have given me over the last few months to resolve my huskiness. The improvements have helped me to regain my confidence when speaking to people either face to face or on the phone, and I know my voice is stronger now. It is such a relief to be free of the huskiness, and I have also regained the soprano singing voice that had been absent for quite a long time! A successful outcome in my opinion."
"Thank you so much for all the help and support you have given me over the difficulties with my voice. I was totally surprised by the improvement and hope against hope it stays that way."
"Your kindness means alot Karen, thank you."
"Thank you for helping me to sing again!"
"Thank you for helping me talk properly! I am starting singing lessons soon so with thanks to you things are finally getting back on track, which is fab! Thank you very much and I appreciate all you've done."
"I appreciate all your effort, helping me with my voice and everything else. You have freed me like a bird!"

Frequently asked questions
Voice therapy may also be referred to as speech therapy or voice training. It offers a wide range of advice and techniques used in the management of voice disorders. Significant improvement in the quality of voice for professional, social and work purposes can be achieved along with voice ease and efficiency. Increased awareness of how to use your voice and factors which can have an impact on voice can prevent long term problems. It is offered by speech and language therapists who specialise in voice therapy or voice coaches.
Here at ReVoice, we have over 30 years of experience in this area.
Voice therapy combines both vocal and physical exercises. It offers advice around causal factors which affect the voice and recommends behavioural changes, to achieve best practice in the treatment of voice disorders. At ReVoice we will work with you to attain relief from your vocal problems. We centre around achieving your best possible voice.

There can be mis-understanding about referral to speech therapy and voice therapy. Many people might ask why they may need voice therapy. The reason is similar to an athlete who is referred to a physiotherapist following a strain or an injury. A person's voice can also be harmed or injured, or become weak and strained. Voice therapy aims to ‘fix’ voice problems as quickly as possible, so that further damage does not occur. When voice improvement is achieved, the use of the techniques along with recommendations can help prevent future problems. Voice therapy therefore firstly stops the harm from causing increased damage, then restores and improves the quality of voice. We work to prevent future voice difficulties which is essentially through a 3-tier approach.
Each person we treat will have different symptoms and therefore different voice therapy needs. We will set personal goals to suit each individual need. Each need will be determined through assessment and discussion in order to tailor a bespoke voice therapy programme. The focus may range from getting rid of that 'feeling of something stuck in your throat’, and achieving relief from an achy throat and neck discomfort to being able to use your voice more effectively in order to use a louder, stronger voice. Another goal could be to work to prevent your voice from feeling weak when giving a presentation or speaking within a group situation. It may simply be that your goal is to get your voice back to the way it used to sound.
We believe that all of the above can be achieved from accurate assessment and treatment from an experienced professional. Find out more about our voice therapy programmes and specific intervention plans.
At ReVoice, we will discuss with you the potential outcome of your voice therapy programme. During the therapy sessions, both the voice therapist and the client have an equal responsibility to help make therapy a success. The effectiveness of voice therapy will also rely upon your own active participation both within and outside of each session. To achieve good outcome, it is vital that clients adhere to advice and technical exercises given within each voice therapy session and generalise them into everyday life situations. Further to this, the effectiveness of voice therapy may be affected by any underlying medical issues associated with your voice disorder.
ReVoice may be able to treat some of these issues and others we may not, however, we will always talk through solutions and options for the best possible outcome, in order to help you obtain your best possible voice.
At ReVoice we offer a variety of voice intervention services to suit all individual needs. We treat identified voice problems, enhance voice quality to maximum potential and offer techniques to help prevent future voicing problems. As well as specialising in skills-based voice therapy to make the most of your voice, we offer advice and training workshops to enhance presentation and oral communication skills.
We offer voice therapy intervention for individuals, professional voice users and businesses. We offer one to one private sessions, small group therapy and also practical workshops and training for larger group needs. All voice therapy sessions are bespoke to specific requirements and are tailored to achieve agreed goals. Cost is dependent on length and frequency of sessions.
